I came across this site doing a google search on vintage pressure cookers and just wanted to post a picture of an old pressure cooker/canner from the
1940's. I bought this years ago with the idea of using it as a pot for doing fish boils outside on my fire-pit. (I hope people know what a fish boil is,
if not do a search on Door County Fish Boils and you'll see. Anyways here's a picture of the pot.

I'm not the brightest person in the world but I do know better than that! I put the "age" on the cooker based on the gauge it has on the lid.
It was made by The La Crosse Guage Company that was in business in the early 40's then changed names after the war. I was going to simply use the
"pot" without the lid outside over a log fire. I wonder if those rivets would leak even without pressure? HHmmmmm I haven't been able to find
anything that looks like this one on the internet so that's why I made my comment and added the photo. I've read many of your recipe's and will
post a couple of my favorites when I find time to dig them out. I can't recall the last time I had to look one up. I've used pressure cookers most of
my adult life, although I have never canned anything. I was a full-time firefighter and the guys loved some of the soups and stews I made, although it is safe
to say most firefighters go for quantity rather than quality.
You have
a great site!
