Hello pumpkin, welcome to the forum. I will be helping Miss Vickie from time to time. Ekco is a large producer of non-electric kitchen products, however I
found nothing at their website regarding the Ekco pressure cookers or the gaskets. www.ekco.com You have an old pressure
cooker, which I believe has not been made for a very long time, so I suspect the gaskets are no longer available. This may be a good time to consider
upgrading to a newer pressure cooker. Miss Vickie's home page can direct you to her recommendations, and if you have any questions regarding any of those
fine appliances, just ask. Please let us know the outcome. G.

pumpkin, Grace is right, the old company that make Ecko pressure cookers went out of business back in the 40s. You can always check on the availability of
parts, Parts Look-Up page.
Its probably long past the time all those vintage WWII era aluminum pressure cookers were permanently retired. In comparison, the modern pressure cookers made today are 100% safe and reliable, and they offer many new features and improvements not found in the old style models. If you need help in choosing a new pressure cooker just ask, we'll be happy to steer you in the right direction. |

The Pressure Cooker was my Mother's. She died this past year. The gasket in it is still good, and I have used it several times. I just wanted a
replacement in case. I wonder if another brand gasket would work??

Pumpkin, I know this pressure cooker is special to you, and you want to honor your mother by continuing to use it. However if you cannot locate the
appropriate replacement gasket for your cooker when the need arises, there will be nothing you can do but retire the pan. You can still use the bottom of the
pot as a regular saucepan, but it will no longer serve as a pressure cooker.
Quoting from Miss Vickie's book, page 60: "For safety reasons, never attempt to use any type of homemade gasket material or substitute a gasket unintended for a different make or model."

I can understand that you have a sentimental attachment to something that is brings back good memories, but maybe you could display it as a treasured
keepsake instead of actually trying to cook with it.
